Karama-Lodge and Spa is nestled in the forest of Suye Hill just outside of Arusha city center, the eco-friendly lodge brings guests close to nature. Monkeys are often seen jumping from tree to tree or running around the garden. The bar lounge and restaurant also offer stunning vistas and is a great spot for sundowners, refreshing cocktails, mouth-watering snacks or something more substantial, with a wide choice of meat, fresh fish and vegetarian options.

About the Lodge:

 Unique, quality lodge, eco-friendly and focused on responsible tourism, with a rustic ambience located in a forest close to Arusha town centre (4km). A bush feel and location so convenient to the town centre. Been an eco-friendly lodge we use handmade soaps and shampoo and filtered water for drinking in order to preserve our environment. Bottled water also available.

 Twenty-five en-suite cabins on stilts guaranteeing privacy, which consist of Twenty three Single, Double and Triple rooms, Two Family rooms which can accommodate up to 7 people. All cabins have a large veranda, most with a beautiful view of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, weather permitting.

Activities:

 Walk to the top of Suye Hill with an escort for security – approximately 1 hour (free of charge, unless you’d like to tip the escort). This forest reserve is protected by Karama Lodge’s guards so as to ensure the forest stays as it is and that people do not destroy the natural environment of dik-dik, mongoose, aardwolf, bush babies and a lot of different species of birds.

 Day trip by foot to the waterfall in Arusha with a knowledgeable guide (charge for guide and village fee).

 Visit to the Arusha Children’s Trust Community Centre, which is supported by Karama Lodge.

 Bird watching (50 different species of birds are living in the gardens of Karama Lodge).
